High-Risk Pregnancy

update:Hi Ladies! ? (advice) regarding shortening cervix. Long, sorry!

I called my doc, and let the nurse know what's been going on, and she asked a ton of questions, and it made me realize that I have not been feeling him move much in the last 2 days, which is really unusual. So I go in a few hours for a more detailed cervical check, and a biophysical profile. I'm trying not to worry, I know my doc will take care of me. I've heard of a BPP, but have no idea what it is or what it consists of!

Thanks to those who responded to my post last night!

  • A BPP - is an ultrasound to check on the growth and overall condition of the baby, monitor the heart rate, breathing, amniotic fluid, etc.  They will also look at the placenta and cervical length and conidtion.  They may also do a NST - non-stress test as well - it just depends on your office.

Try not to worry too much and you'll have some answer soon.

  • Thank you! I've had 9 BH's in the last hour, ranging from 14s to 1m7s, so I'm ready to hear what my doc has to say regarding this, because having them this often just started yesterday...
  • Let us know how it goes.  My fingers are crossed that all is well.
