Need help ladies re: night away :)

My dh has two days off work next week (usually only has one off)! So, we were planning on going somewhere overnight since my mom can watch dd. Where would be fun to go, but isn't too far away?

We've been wanting to head to LA for a weekend.  I've had my eye on the SLS and lusting over the eats from weezermonkey's blog.  Have a great getaway!

Just came back from the Parker and wanted to tell you how it was. Very eclectic, funky place, if you're into that. We loved the gardens and the decor. It was a very fun environment. BUT....what you pay for food & drinks is INSANE! We were there one night and our food bill was $400! We really didn't drink that much - just a couple wines with dinner and a couple lemon drinks in the day. Also, its not by the downtown strip in Palm Springs. So you're kinda stuck there unless you wanna get on freeways to go out.
