Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Do you run a playgroup?

If so do you use a website or online tools to help organize it?  what do you use? Right now I am using Mommyandme but I find the site really hard to add activities plus there is no to contact if you have questions. I know Meetup.com has up-keep cost (something I don't want to deal with) so I am thinking about just doing a google calender, But is there something better out there?  This playgroup is for Twin Cities Bump

Thank you for your help

Are you guys still doing the GTG's for the MN board at MOA? Haven't been to the board in awhile.

  • I've seen play groups on Facebook.
  • Shutterfly lets you make a page that is really good for teams, groups, etc.

Facebook sounds like an easy way to organize play group events.  You could create a page and then use the event invite feature.

Oh yes that is right, was that not a crazy day or what :) That was a Toddler Tuesday event. They have a lot of different things but we only go on days that have thymes we like. I am waiting for the next list of TT events to come out (should be any day now) so that we can plan what days to go & what days to stay home

The only problem is I like to keep my Facebook account secret, I know there are ways I can lock down my personal info but I don't trust myself.

The one I checked out was a seperate page than the girl's personal FB.

  • I run 2 playgroups, one for 4 years and one for 1 year.  I use Yahoo user groups for the 4 year group.  It works fine, but after 4 years, a lot of people are on it I don't know anymore and don't come.  The newer one, I use regular email list.  I know who is on it and can drop people as they go back to work or whatever, where they no longer attend.  It is useful because we are a much more tight knit group and can safely reply to all, without worries of who is reading it.

That is kinda what I would like as with the M&M site so many people are asking for invites (thru the M&M site not thru here) & I don't even know who they are or if they are part of the bump I would much rather something a little more exclusive

  • I'm an assistant organizer and we use meetup.com.  I know you said you didn't want to pay but the site has lots of easy to use features and if you split up the cost it isn't that much.  Our members pay $6 a year and we have some left over for a end of the year party.

    What is the upfront cost?
