stage 3 foods?

When did you give your LO stage 3 babyfoods?  A friend gave me some that her LO doesn't like and I was wondering...it has meat in it.  He eats some other babyyfood, stage 2s, I make him foods, and food off our plate (soft of course).

We gave them to J last month at 8 months old. Their a lot thicker and some even have food chunks in it. I think he'll be ok if he's used to thicker foods.
