I know- kind of a weird topic starter, but Mason grabs at his penis the second I take off his diaper.

And if he has pooped and it's all up in his business? Yep- poop on the hand. I can't wipe, hold the legs, and keep his hands away all at the same time! It freaks me out to no end that he is going to stick that hand immediately into his mouth. blech.

Any tips or tricks? Does your little boy do this, too?

I give Jacob the diaper to play with while I am claening him up...it distracts him. (the clean diaper...lol)

We have a "potty toy" that he gets immediately when we lay him down. He can only play with that toy when we're changing his diaper (so he's never bored with it). That way, his hands are always on the toy and never down around his penis.

I give them something to hold on to before I take off the diaper. They are usually mesmerized by a Desitin tube, a clean diaper, or even a wipe long enough for me to change them.

Yes - DS always tries to grab his junk as soon as I take the diaper off.  What I do now is give him something...anything to hold while I change him.  Even the tube of diaper cream...or the new diaper.  ANYTHING to distract him. 

I also wipe up most of the poo with the dirty diaper...before I start wiping...that way there's not a bunch of poo for him to stick his hand right into.

DS does this too.  I give him something "new" to play with while I change his diaper.  Like his brush, or the wipes, or a book.  Usually distracts him long enough for me to wipe him clean and get the new diaper in place.

I was just noticing that this morning. Luckily he didn't poop, but he was all over his little boy parts.

May if you give him something to hold he will be too distracted to grab down there.

I kind of block DS w/ my free arm while I clean up the front first that way if he grabs it's clean(er).

Great suggestions! It's just... he doesn't care. He knows what's down there and throws the toy/book/lotion bottle/even the remote! down and goes for the package. le sigh.

I'll just keep trying! Glad to know he's not the only one!

They prefer the desitin tube in one hand and the nasal aspirator in the other (with the suker tip in their mouths).

From what friends with boys tell me...this is JUST the beginning.  Get used to it.  It's going to get worse.

I give him a toy, or anything really to distract him.

Though, lately his penis has been more interesting. We had an interesting "don't eat your poop" wrestling match a couple days ago. I won. Barely.
