    FWIW, I answered that I feel safe but didn't feel like the explanation was WHY I feel safe.

    I don't feel unsafe just because people are carrying guns. I know people slip through the cracks, but for the most part the pepole who have licenses to carry a weapon have been checked out and cleared to do so. I'm fine with that. It's the unlicensed people I'm worried about.

    I'm okay with it.  If people go through the steps to obtain a concealed weapon license then I figure they can operate said weapon responsibly.  As PP said, it's the *ETA unlicensed* (I left that word out, hah) ones who are a bit worrisome but there's no way to know.

    I have several friends with concealed weapons permits. As pp said, they don't bother me, it's the unlicenced ones that I worry about.

    I'm on both sides of the field.

    A- I want a handgun and a license. I want to be able to protect myself and my family if I needed to.

    B- I'm a responsible person, but there are SO many people out there that are not and get a gun too easily. It panics me to think about that many people carrying. I can trust me, but I can't trust you. Get it? 

    C- My boyfriend back in high school was watching his younger brother while parents were out. Younger brother found daddy's handgun and knew where the bullets were. Unfortunately my ex-boyfriend is scarred for life because he wasn't watching younger brother and his friend. Younger brother shot himself in the face. Guns are no good, no matter what the intentions are.
