Re: homemade baby food - green beans?

  • Do they mean remove the skin from peas if not pureeing and serving as finger food?  Are you asking for puree or finger food?  I've made peas and green beans for puree and never removed anything.

  • For a puree? If so steam them and put them in the blender, it's the ONLY way to get them really smooth.
  • I never removed the skins...oops?

  • what do you mean by skin? if you were using fresh peas from the garden, i'm sure you would hull them, but frozen peas in a bag have already been taken out of the pod. the pod on peas is way tougher than the skin on a green bean.

this. yep, hulled them (sorry don't know the lingo) and yep, hulled the fresh peas (pita) and just steamed fresh green beans. thanks for the response on the skin difference, that obviously must be it!

  • We tried green beans this week.  I just steamed them and threw them in the food processor.  DS is not a fan.  He'll only eat them mixed with oatmeal.
