I recently paid $70 for a weekend night at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead on Priceline. You have to name your own price, though. You can choose the area and star rating of the hotel, but you won't see which hotel it is until you've purchased.
if you go the priceline route, check out bidding for travel dot com. It gives you lists of hotels by star rating by state and then by city. You can then research to see what you are likely to get if you bid through priceline. you can also see posts as to what others have bid to give you an idea of where to start. we've done this tons and always stay at 4 or 5 star hotels for much less!
