I had severe back labor and no epi. Yes. I screamed. :-)
ETA: Well, more like cried and yelled.
ETA ETA: :-) My contrax were also right on top of each other (no break at all) and I didn't even have time to push before the next one started. It was horrible! Then I found out I needed an emergency c/s and they told me to relax during the contrax. HA!
just once when the nurse forgot to take the blood pressure thing off my arm and it got tight as i was pushing..i said "get this Fvcking thing off of me" .. then i apologized immediately, mid- labor, for being mean, my nurses were so nice and helpful
With DS I moaned as well, no screaming though even though my back labor was bad. I went natural up until the end when he turned transverse and had to have c-section.
No screaming. Some loud "Ow! Ow!!" But not even as loud as a shout or anything. Just like loudly saying it. But then again I got an epi at 5 cm so who knows if I would have screamed w/o one.
I had back labor and was nearing day 3 of induced labor, so yeah I screamed. I scared patients next door to me I was screaming so bad. It was awful. I hope I never experience the back labor again. I got the dry heaves because of it.
No. I was quiet and pretty short with people although I was trying really hard not to be. I stopped talking and making noise completely through contractions for the most part.
Edited to add: I did ask the anesthesiologist to "Can you please just calm the f*** down?" when I meant to ask if he could wait until after my contraction was over. I was so embarassed and kept apologizing. He knew what I meant at least. I still have no idea why that came out.
Kind of with my third. I was having really bad back labor and the contractions were right on top of each other, no pain meds. Didn't even have a 1 minute break between them. I did well until the last hour (total was less than 6). It was more like some loud moans here and there The midwife had what felt like her whole arm up me and I remember screaming loud then. Pushing, no I did not at all. One steady push and she was out. It felt better to finally push. After she was out I screamed a few times. I stopped contracting and they had a hard time getting the placenta out. My OB pushed on my stomach HARD as the midwife was working down below. I had to hand my daughter over to my friend, I could barely handle that!
I had bad back labor, but I didn't feel the need to scream until the pushing started. That's when the back labor was the worst and the "ring of fire" seemed to last for about a half and hour.

lol I had trouble with my blood pressure cuff being too tight too, and it made me furious cause I couldnot concentrate on pushing. I had a mark on my arm for about 2 weeks.
I did not scream with either of my deliveries and I had completely natural childbirths. I was in a zone, if that makes any sense. I knew what I had to do, and I did it. I was very quiet. I did not want anyone touching me or talking to me. It was very surreal. Then again, my first was born an hour after my water broke and my second w/in 45 minutes of my water breaking.
I sure did. The real embarrasing part is the fact that there was another couple in L&D from our area who were thinking "oh that poor girl." We're friends now, and our kids were born on the same day...I'm still embarassed.
I screamed for the last 2 pushes because I was tearing, epi never worked. After over 2 hours of pushing I just wanted her out. I didn't scream during labor more like moaning and whining because of the back labor. I was having really bad pain in my leg (worse than the contractions) after the failed epi and I now wonder if that was somehow connected. I remember wondering afterward if I scared anyone out in the hall lol.
Lots of moaning and some ows...thinking back I-should have screamed b/c the on call doctor wouldn't give me an epi even with contractions 2 minutes apart because I wasn't dilating as much as he would like. Did I mention this went on for 13 hours until DH demanded we get another doctor???? Oh yeah and in the end I had to have a c-section!
I screamed/sang/hummed/groaned/moaned a lot. I had the urge to push at 3 cm (good times) and honestly breathing techniques helped a bit - but being loud took my focus of wanting to push a bit.
ETA: I got the epidural at 6 cm, but until then I was loud:) After that, I was loud off and on whenever my epi. wore off on a side.
Actually no! I thought I would make some noise because I'm not very brave when it comes to pain.... but I was actually really quiet the whole time! I had to be induced and keeping my eyes shut, laying on my side was the only thing that seemed to help with the pain! And I never got to get any pain meds because I progressed so quickly by the time I asked for something it was too late!! So I was actually quite proud of myself for going med free and scream free! *lol*
Nope. They broke my water at 7am, got the epidural at 11am, c-section at 8pm. I didn't feel a thing. I was actually joking with the anestetician (sp? it's early) and the nurses.

Nope. I was told beforehand if you were screaming that you probably weren't pushing right. LOL!
I was very quiet during the actual act of pushing.
I don't really remember, I might have before my epi?
They gave me an ambien and I couldn't sleep because of the pain, but I was totally out of it, like a zombie. UGH
