Big tub or baby tub?

Are you still in the baby tub, or have you switched to the big tub? I'm a little terrified to make the switch, and to be honest, I don't know when you're supposed to do it ...

Re: Big tub or baby tub?

  • We switched to the big tub at 4 months.  I filled the water low and laid him down in it for a while, now he sits, and scoots and has a blast!  Don't be worried, as long as you are attentive you shouldn't have any issues!

  • We made the switch a couple months ago. We got a rubbermaid bath mat so he doesn't slip around. He really likes it.
  • Big tub, but we have been since about 8 weeks. Litle tub was a pain and L has always loved to kick and splash. Now baths are a bit harder, he likes to be on his tummy and crawl, may try the kitchen sink soon!

  • Big tub!!!! We almost always used it since like 3 months.  We started by taking the bath with DD which is seriously a alot of fun :)  So you can transition that way to make it easier!

  • I started putting DS in the big tub when he could sit up by himself perfectly which was about 7 months

  • Big tub.. I waited until I was comfortable w/ her sitting up capabilities.. don't rush  it if you're nervous! it won't affect her either way

  • We've used the big tub the whole time.  We had a bath sponge to lay him on that he loves & it's always been easier than any baby tub I've found. He loves to splash around so it makes it a little more fun for him too!

  • Big tub ever since we moved (first week of Feb).  While still in Germany I still used the baby tub since our tub was very deep.  Would have been a huge pain to lean over the side of it.  She loves being in the bog tub.  She crawls around and rolls over etc.  She does try to stand but I sit her right back down.  I bought a mat so she doesn't slip too much.  I stay right there of course.
  • We put her in a laundry basket inside the big tub.  That way she can sit up and play around but doesn't slide all over the place.
