What toys do 1yr olds or so play with?

I'm beginning to think about Birthday gift for DD. I'm thinking of getting a toy of some kind for her but I'm clueless what kind of toys would be interesting for a year old. Any ideas? Links and pictures would be very helpful!

    We're getting LO's a wagon.  I've also been eyeing the sand and water table they have at Costco. 

    People keep asking me for their birthday though - so far I've come up with Mega Blocks, Little People, and I found some hooded beach towels that I thought would be useful (we're starting swim lessons soon).
