Babies: 9 - 12 Months

baby jeans

i have such trouble finding jeans for ds that i feel are comfortable. i don't like the ones that snap and zip up because i feel like the waist is so constricting, even if there is some elastic in the back.  if he is sitting, i feel like the waist in front by the snap is digging into him.  even if i look at bigger sizes it seems that they just get longer, rather tham the waist getting bigger.  i was able to just find him a pair that i think will work better (Koala Kids), but was wondernig if anyone else is dealing with this.  ds isn't even THAT big...the last time he was weighed he was in the 50th percentile for height and weight.

Re: baby jeans

  • I get most of Trent's jeans at Old Navy. They do button and zip though, and then have elastic in the back. I also have to go up in size quite a bit because I feel like the waist is constricting. Length wise they aren't too bad but my son is also pretty long. If they are long though I just roll the bottoms up a bit and they are fine.

  • I feel the same way! DS is only in the 25% for weight and I always feel his jeans push too much on his tummy. I've been getting jeans from Baby Gap, but most of the time I just put him in sweat pants.

  • I only buy my LO's jeans at Old Navy.  My LO is 5 1/2 months and wears a 6-12 months. He is a little big though. I find that jeans from the childrens place are super constricted!
  • I hate baby jeans. I don't know what they are thinking when they make them. Old Navy jeans for girls, in particular, drive me nuts. They are cut as if for a miniature adult, not for a diaper butted, pot bellied human who spends a lot of time crawling. They are so slim. DD wears is in 9 or 12 month clothes now. I ordered a pair of Old Navy 18 mos and the waist will not go over her diaper. I could force it, but I don't think it would be comfortable for her. I have a pair of pants from the gap made out of a material that looks like denim that I like. I also have a pair of 18 month capris from Carter that fit like jeans. That's all I've found.

I personally love baby jeans but I PPH the image your words gave me so I had to bold them. Baby Gap has good ones for our boys.

  • PPH? Is that good or bad? Maybe I shouldn't ask and just assume good...

  • Yay! It is good. I want to like baby jeans, I just can't find any worthy. Maybe I should start a line: PBDB Jeans (Pot BElly Diaper Butt Jeans). I bet I'd find an adult market also...

LOL. BabyGap works great for them but they are pricey. I like them because they are lined and don't chafe chubby thighs/knees.

  • We have the same problem with Finn's big belly. I have bought a few pairs from Children's Place on sale and they have elastic all the way around and he seems so much more comfortbale in them.
  • My favorite Jeans for DD come from Joe Fresh.  I don't know if you get it in the US.  But the website is www.joe.ca  DD wears their jeans all the time.  They have snaps in the legs and are super cute.  Also they are a snap button top, a fake fly and the elastic goes all the way around.  They fit really really well.  I also love Baby Gap.
