DH wants to take DS to his first Phillies game this year and I don't know if its a good idea. I think it would be cool to take him, but I feel like he is still too young. WDYT?
Sure! I would take him but realize you probably will not be able to stay the whole time. Even I get fidgity sitting through 9 innings. Dress weather appropriate and bring him some toys and enough food and you should be fine!Sounds like fun!
You can always try it out by going to a smaller venue first, like if there's a minor league in town.
Why not? I took DD to her first game at 3 weeks old - flame me if you want, but it was perfect weather and she just slept in the bijorn. We will be taking her this year too and at the ballpark here they have a playground for the kids so we got tickets near there to entertain her.
We took ds when he was 7 weeks old (indoor field). He slept through most of it, and we left after 7th inning...would recommend headphones for noise if poss. We also just took him to a hockey game which went well also!
We took Max to the Big Ten tournament last week. It was only 2 hours and he did great...right at the end he got fussy but otherwise, was aweosme. I would say...you would not be able to keep him there the whole time, but why not go and try it out!
I forget what age we first took DD, but it went really smoothly. We left around the top of the 5th inning. The last time we went we left around the top of the 7th inning. We have yet to take DS, but I'm sure we will soon, as our stadium does great family activities at the minor league games around Easter (provided it is a year that doesn't conflict with Spring Training).
well personally, I wouldn't take my DS to a Phillies game ... but I did take him to a Dodgers game at 4 months. It was a bit of a mistake as it was the playoffs and he was not ok with the noise level. We plan to take him again this summer as we're big fans, but we'll probably opt for a Sunday afternoon game instead, which are pretty low-key.
I say take him to a game when they're playing someone no one really cares about so the stadium will be less full and hopefully easier to navigate and quieter.
Ok you all convinced me! Haha I've never been to a game myself so I was just a little worried about to taking him someplace I'm unfamiliar with, especially with large crowds for a long amount of time.
DS doesn't like to be held, he is always on the go, so I was worried about that... but he may be overwhelmed enough by the people to stay still.

Have fun!!
It's the only game we'd take DS to He was named after Hamels lol
That's a good idea though. DH was talking about taking him to a Sunday game.

We are definitely taking the girls to a phillies game this year. But on a sunday afternoon. And there is lots to do at the stadium. I am expecting to just walk around with the girls and eat and show them the sights. And we can still see the game when we want. I say go for it!
go Phils!!!!

We are looking forward to taking DD to her first Mets game this summer. Well my dad and I are, SO is a Yankees fan, boo!!!
If she gets fussy we can always stroll around the the grounds and take short breaks. I think it should be fine.

cute name! Though, Cole Hamels is the bane of my boys in blue.
in fact, as I remember, the last Dodger game I went to before DS was born your boy Cole pitched a shut out.
so excited for baseball season!
