Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Mini pill and AF

I've been on the mini pill for 3 cycles now.  AF has only been here once at the beginning when I first started taking the pills.  Is that normal?  I know that the last week of pills aren't placebos so I'm thinking that this is why I'm not getting it.  TIA.

Re: Mini pill and AF

  • If you are still BF/EPing it is normal to not have AF.  My LO is 11 months and still no AF (and not pregnant either).

  • I'm on the mini pill and only got AF twice in the 9 months that I EP'd.  Since I stopped EPing I have gotten it twice but it's longer in between AFs than it was before baby.  The nice thing about the mini pill is that since there aren't specific colors you have to take each week that you can keep an extra pill in your purse if you're accidently not home at the time you have to take your pill- then you have one already with you! that's what I like about it.  The scary part is that you're more likely to get PG on the mini pill than the regular pill.  But it's still a low chance which is good.  So basically if you are Bfing then it's totally normal to not get it for a really long time.
