Do you still use a carrier for an 8 1/2 month old? I never used one for my first son. Well, I got a Bjorn, and he hated being in it, so I sold it on eBay and never got a different one or tried one when he was older. Is there a carrier for older babies? Like the Moby? Thanks!

Re: What kind of carrier for 8 1/2 old?
Not really true. The bjorn is poorly designed and much more uncomfortable than other options. I can wear my 23 pound kid for hours with no discomfort and still wear him daily (obviously not for hours every day because he wouldn't put up with that!).
I would not recommend something stretchy like the moby or k'tan for a 8 month old - they are fabulous for newborns but not great for older babies because they will sag.
If you want buckles, get something like the beco, babyhawk oh snap, ergo, or bobo.
Other options would be a woven wrap or a mei tai (one with a padded waist will be more supportive/comfortable with an older baby).
