Who's been to Vital Records? (fulton co)

I have been meaning to fix this for a long time.  It took us forever to get Jax's birth certificate and when we did it was wrong.  It says I was born in Ohio...I'm pretty sure it says Atlanta, OH actually.  UM???  I was born at the same dang hospital as my baby.  dummies.

Anyway...DH didn't have a great experience trying to call when we wondered where it was, so I thought about going there one day.

Is there a long wait?  Is it a pain?  etc?

  • I don't know about Fulton County, but when we went to the one in Cobb County (delivered at Kennestone), there was no wait, We were in and out in less than 10 minutes.

  • I was in and out of the office near Grady in under 30 minutes. I don't think they take credit/debit cards, so have a money order ready. Area was a little sketch, but no big deal overall. Also, I parked in the Grady deck - so you'll have to pay for parking if you go this route.

ditto this.  I think it took me about 30-45 minutes to get my birth certificate down by grady.  Bring cash.

OH! I missed the correction part. I would think not, but take cash just in case.

  • This is probably a 'duh', but I would make sure to have your form from the hospital stating the birth as proof.

  • All I had to show my was my drivers license and give my mothers name.  It might be different to get your child's though.
