Has anyone delivered at Ochsner Kenner?

was just wondering how your experience was and if you liked it? how were the rooms? nurse care etc? I delivered my daughter at EJ and loved it but my ob switched here and it is closer to home so I was thinking about maybe delivering here..Just a bit more comfortable with EJ since I have delivered there already and worked there several years so its in my "comfort zone" thanks

Hi. I am new to the bump.  I am a labor and delivery nurse.  I currently work at EJ but also used to work at Kenner.  To tell you the truth the rooms at Kenner are nicer (faux wood floors and nicer furniture).  To me the nursing care at EJ is better.  Nurses are more personable and have more experience.  One thing that is different in the postpartum period is that the same nurse that takes care of you also takes care of your baby.  At EJ the baby has their own nurse.  We promote skin to skin and rooming in but you have the option of letting the baby sleep in the nursery.  Hope this helped.
