XP: Diagnose this breast pain

I have sudden onset breast and nipple pain on one side today.  Started noticing it this afternoon, and it has worsened.  The nipple and one side of the breast are very sore and tender to the touch.  And let-down is particularly uncomfortable on that side today.  Nothing looks out of the ordinary -- no blisters, no blanching, no red streaks, no lumps -- nothing.  I have been BFing pain-free for weeks now.

The only thing I can think of is that I nursed DS side lying on that side this morning in bed, which we don't do too often.  I guess maybe the latch could have been a little off?  But it didn't hurt at the time, so I don't know that it could have been a bad enough latch to cause me this much pain.  Nursing on that side is pretty painful, and now I'm noticing the soreness all the time

Any ideas?  TIA.
