We are going to the beach and Sarah Beth will be about 2 months old. Can you use baby sunscreen on children under 6 months? I've always heard not to use any sunscreen at all until they're 6 months. We won't have her out on the beach all day, but we did get a little nursery tent with 50 SPF to put her in when she is on the beach with us.
Re: S/O - Sunscreen on infants
We will definitely ask the pedi - I forgot about that option, lol. This is the little tent we got. It has SPF protection and is vented so the air can blow through, but will keep sand out.
My pedi said it's perfectly fine to use sunscreen on infants less then 6 monhts BUT you need to test it out on a small area of the baby's thigh 24 hours before you plan to use it. He said if there is no reaction within 24 hours on the small area you put it on then you can use it. He said the concern with babies under 6months is that the baby will be allergic to it or have sensitive to skin to it and then you can't just wipe it off their whole body.
