tell me about 6 wk pp check up

I'm scared of my 6 wk pp check up on Friday!  I only stopped bleeding at 4 wks 6 days pp.  I had some tearing, including a 2nd degree tear and (what must have been) a tear in my upper labia area.  I don't feel ready to have anyone poking around down there!  What was your 6 wk appointment like?

You have nothing to be afraid of.  The doctor will take a look that's it.  They will only look inside if you have tearing inside, which I did.  There is no probing or poking, very gentle and takes about 10 seconds.

My SIL goes to the same OB as I do and we go in at 4 wks pp and she told me they do a pap smear. Please tell me she is crazy!!! I think I will refuse to get one if that's the case. I can't imagine them doing that to such a tender area.

Hm, so I guess they're not one-size-fits-all appointments.  That makes sense, I guess.  I think I'll take one of my super ibuprofens before I go.

I had a papsmear at my 6 week pp and it was so painful... I had 3rd degree tear... made me think I will never have sex again

Wow, I don't have to go back for a pap smear until June when it will have been a year since my last one.  My OB just did a normal internal, that's it.

My appt was on Friday. She just checked the size of my uterus and I was super scared it would hurt like when they checked my cervix at the hospital. ?But I barely felt it. ?I thought they would do the Pap smear too but she said they wait until my 6 month check up for that, oh well. ?I had an episiotomy if it matters. I stopped bleeding around 3 weeks pp.

I had a full well woman exam plus my doctor just checked to make sure everything was healing well.  I had three 3rd degree tears and didn't have any pain at all during the exam.
