Eve took her first unassisted steps on Valentines day and has been taking a few steps at a time ever since then.. she's been getting a LITTLE better, but in the last three weeks I really haven't seen much improvement..she's certainly not walking most of the time.. I know she'll walk eventually, I just think its strange that it hasn't clicked yet.. in over a month..
Of course, when we met another mom and baby Eve's age at Music with Mar, and the mom asked me if Eve was walking yet (the other baby wasn't either), I said.."Oh.. only a little, a few steps here and there".. and then Eve walked across the room.... she seems to do better when we are out around other kids.. at home she'd just rather crawl.

Justin was "almost walking" forever too. I had like 50 video clips of him taking 5 or 6 steps and falling over b/c I kept thinking " this is it, this is when he's going to take off walking"
Eva didn't take her first unassisted step until she was 16 months on the day and she took off walking and never looked back. It was like she wasn't even going to bother if she knew she couldn't do it. I think it's amazing that Eve is taking any steps- the rest will come when she's ready. And then be ready to start chasing!
I think peer pressure really helps sometimes. Ian was almost walking for a while, too, but he just seemed a little gun-shy about taking the plunge. It wasn't until he was around his cousins who were running around like maniacs that he went off on his own. I think he thought he wanted to keep up with them, so he better start walking. The morning after he was crawling around after them, he started walking around the living room and never looked back.
I think this is really common. Rosie took her first steps at 10.5 months and wasn't walking more than a few steps until 11.5 months. It took her even longer to walk all the time and not crawl anymore. I think she could walk, she just didn't have the confidence she needed to do it. I'm sure she'll get there soon enough.

Ut Oh- giving in to peer pressure already! She'll be one to watch.
