we are going to start mixing in bottle feedings (with BM of course) to train him since i am going to work soon... what brands do you suggest that are best to avoid nipple confusion? I still want to be able to breast feed whenever i am home... Also a suggestion for a bottle warmer safe for breastmilk??
Re: From Breastfeeding... Bottles??
I use playtex ventaire bottles. They reduce gas a lot! I don't use a bottle warmer, I just put the bottle in warm water for a few min. I know there are some that are safe for BM, just don't know the names.
My DS hasn't had a problem w/nipple confusion. We use the playtex ventaire wide nipples for breastfed babies.
We've used Dr Browns from about 3 weeks with no trouble. I've also used Born Free which he likes just fine, DH just doesn't like them.
We do use a bottle warmer if the bottle comes straight from the fridge. We went 2 months without, but DH decided it would make his nightly feeding with DS easier.
We use Dr. Browns and haven't had any problems. I'm not a believer in nipple confusion. DD hasn't had a problem latching on, going from bottle to breast in the same feeding (she also takes 2 differen types of pacifiers, which I know is rare).
I had several people recommend Dr. Brown's too me, we didn't try anything else.
