I think we are going to start sleeping DS on his tummy tonight - he wants to roll over constantly and he is crying when he does so. Right now we wrap a swaddleme blanket around his waist (he always tries to chew the sleep sack), but I worry he won't be able to roll back over onto his back if he wants to.
Should I use a sleep sack or just let him sleep in his PJs (terry cloth Carter's sleepers). Our house is 69 degrees at night - but I can make it warmer if you think I should.
FWIW - DD uses a sleep sack.
THANKS
Re: Do you use a sleep sack for tummy sleepers?
we always put them down on their backs. if they roll over and want to sleep on their tummies, fine. they ALWAYS do and at first when they started rolling, they would cry when they woke and rolled over. they went back to sleep.
we switched to sacks right away when they started this. swaddle designs makes thick ones i LOVE, and they recommend 65-70deg with a long sleeved onsie. we always think they will be too cold and add pants, or just put them in footie pjs underneath. now that it's getting warmer here (80deg the other day!) we are also using halo's lighter, thinner sacks.
here's the swaddle designs https://www.eswaddle.com/product/SD-084PP a little $$ but we just got 2 and used them every night.
I was going to ask you what you put your kids in to sleep! It was so hot the other day, and since we're 3 miles from the ocean, this house has no A/C. It gets hot in here. The fleece Swaddle Mes definitely don't work in this weather, so I need to get something different. Looks like a trip to BRU is in order.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
i feel ya! we are in la mesa and have a/c but only in the living room. we assemble fans to distribute cool air to bedrooms (not effectively). swaddle designs might have lighter weight sacks too. the halos are quite light.
