During all the talk of c section scars earlier people kept talking about the fat flap that they got from the c section. So is this just loose skin? or is it fat? or is it what happened because they cut through muscle?
I had what I call a muffin top. It's hidden if I wear a swim suit, so it's very low, just an inch or so above my scar. Only my husband or I would know it's there unless I was wearing a very low bikini. ?Anyways, mine is NOT fat. ?It's scar tissue build up under it and would require a tummy tuck to get rid of. ?My doctor helped it when I had this last csection but I think I'm still going to notice it.
Ugh, I have the loose skin?- it has a little bit of "flubber" under it though too. But I did gain 55 lbs and I guess it didn't all go to my hips
Btw - they don't cut your muscles they pull them apart.? It would be horrendous to have your muscles cut.? It hurts me think about it!
My stomach muscles were in fact cut- 4 times now for four csections. ?Not everyone has textbook csections and it IS common for them to have to cut the muscles. ??
I had a "muffin top" above the scar for a while, it was swelling in the skin. It is flat now, but the scar acts as a crease when I sit down so my skin folds there.
In a normal c-section they don't cut the muscle, it get's separated manually along the midline (up & down direction)
I think a lot has to do with what you started with and how big you got (twins probably = looser skin) I had very little fat on that part of my belly and only gained 20 lbs during pregnancy.
