Last night DH was looking at old pictures and he made a comment like "I miss the days where you look like that every day..." Hello it is when we first started dating, not when I had a two month old that spit up on me! So that made me wonder, maybe I have let myself go too much. What do you ladies do? How has your morning routine changed?[Poll]
Re: Clicky Poll: Do you still "dress up?"
I stay in yoga pants and a comfy shirt all day. I dont do t-shirts because I have always felt like the strangle me. So I guess I wear nicer shirts. But I atleast try to make my hair look like I tried and put on minimal make up if I am sitting around the house all day.
I shower every morning. It depends on what I have planned that day if I do my hair, make-up, and how I dress. If we are staying home, I usually throw on yoga pants and a tee and my hair is pulled back in a ponytail. If we are planning on doing something, I put on "nice" clothes, make-up, and either straighten my hair or pull it back in a ponytail. Depends on where we are going.
By the way, if dh said that to me, I would probably kick him where the sun doesn't shine, hahahaha!!!
I'm not a SAHM but I'm on leave until May.
I try to blow dry and straighten my hair a couple times a week and each time I try to make it last a few days. I usually change from one comfy outfit to another when I get "ready" for the day. I rarely wear make up. Usually I'll throw on a pair of jeans when leaving the house. I see no reason to be out of comfortable clothing when I'm at home.
Depends on the day. Today...my hair is a mess, I'm in a t-shirt that has spit-up on it, yoga pants, and I have yet to brush my teeth. It's been a horrible day.
On another note, I just saw you live on Kauai. We just got back from there a couple weeks ago. It was amazing! Which side of the island do you live on?

I shower twice a day. Once in the morning and once before bed.
I used to get out of the shower and blow dry my hair and straighten it right away. Now I let it air dry and straighten it sometime in the afternoon. I don't usually put on makeup to hang out around the house, but that's because I'm breaking out like crazy and trying to put as little as possible on my face.
I shower at night before bed. I've always done that anyway, but with the baby it definitely makes life easier.
From day 1 with the little guy, I've always made sure to get my face washed and teeth brushed first thing. And for probably the last 6 weeks - if not longer - I do go ahead and put on makeup first thing too. If C is still sleeping, that makes it easier, but if not, he'll usually sit fairly happily in the bouncer in the bathroom if I talk to him.
What I wear depends largely on what we're going to be doing and the weather. If I know we're going to pretty much stick around the house all day or I'm feeling lazy, I go for the yoga pants in a heartbeat. If I were able to wear more (any) of my old clothes, I'd probably feel more excited about getting dressed.
We were on the East side too. We stayed in Lihue with friends for a few nights and then the Marriott. We went to the Wailua waterfall, but it was 2 tiny streams. There hadn't been much rain.
We went in November and stayed on the Wailua River. ?It was a fabulous trip and my husband is itching to go back! ?At this point, I'm itching for ANY vacation
?Were you raised there? ?I always wonder how people ended up there.
If I don't shower I'm a crazy person. Seriously. It's my most important mental health step of the day.
So yes...I shower and put on "real" clothes every day. Even if they're comfy pants, they're not yoga pants. I put on makeup and earrings and do my hair--even if I'm not drying it, I put it up in a ponytail or a twist or braids or something.
