I am having an ultrasound tomorrow to check my cervix and we will also get a look at the baby. They are doing an internal ultrasound. Will an internal give us a better view of the baby than an outside ultrasound at this point? I have never had an outside one, only internal so far. Will we be able to see more?
Re: Question: 16 week ultrasound tomorrow
And internal will give you the best view of your cervix to get adequate measurements.
You may or may not get decent pictures of the baby.
I had a cervix u/s at 16 weeks. We could see the head of one baby near my cervix, but not much else. They then switched to an abdominal scan to get a better look at the twins.
I think with a singleton they will be able to see most of the baby via transvaginal u/s, but I'm not sure if it will be a complete look. With twins we definitely needed the abdominal scan because my uterus was already up past my belly button.
Good luck tomorrow!
