GD Ladies - What are you eating for Breakfast?

It seems like if I have any more than 1 serving of carbs for breakfast my numbers are way off.  I'm having trouble coming up with breakfast ideas with out many carbs.  It doesn't help that my morning sickness is apparently going to stick around the whole time and the smell of cooking eggs make me sick.  Right now the only thing I've found is the Muscle Milk protien shakes, but I'm going to get sick of those eventually.

Any other ideas?

TIA

  • I have a piece of low carb whole wheat toast, one egg, and one slice of cheese every day.  I tried oatmeal, but it spiked my sugars.

  • whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter.

I can't stand the smell of eggs right now either.

  • I can also have low sugar oatmeal, but it is really bland.

  • It seems if I have any bread or milk in the morning my numbers are bad.  I'll try the English muffin and peanut butter.

    Thanks!

  • I often make a breakfast sandwich.  I know yu're not into eggs right now, but I've been doing egg whites (not the same smell to me), candian bacon and cheese.  I make one for DH with no egg and he loves them.  I use 1/2 a high fiber english muffin, and have a glass of milk.
I've also found my biggest breakfast problem initially was not getting enough protein to balance out the carbs, once I started having the egg, bacon and cheese I can eat more carbs

what kind of bread are you eating? they make some pretty low carb breads (8-10g).

    Ditto.

  • Breakfast has been the hardest meal for me to control. Lately I have been having scrambled garden vegetable egg beaters with steel cut oats with berries. This is the only breakfast that I've gotten good numbers with -- nothing else has worked and I've tried a whole bunch of combinations.
  • carb style pepperidge farm bread 8g

I tried whole wheat eggo waffles with 2 egg whites and cheese---numbers have been great!

  • I'm pretty boring.  I've been having cheerios with milk every morning.
  • Normally I have two eggs two pieces of toast (any brand of whole wheat light) and some cheese on the eggs. When I first started the GD diet I had only one egg and one piece of toast but my sugar dropped really bad. I can also have some waffles with peanut butter and my numbers are fine. Cereal is a bit hard for me in the mornings. Sometimes my numbers are good and sometimes they are too high. This morning I had a whole different meal. I had a hot dog with corn and peas. I know it sounds weird but I didn't want a traditional "breakfast". My number was great. I guess it was enough of  a balance for my body to handle.
