2nd Trimester

So I recommended The Last Song before I finished it...

And I just want to clarify that while it is a GREAT book (and an easy read) it will most likely make you cry like a baby towards the end.

I sat in bed crying last night while I finished it - DH thought I was crazy but, it is a tear jerker and this pregnant lady can't help that!

  • Its by Nicolas Sparks. The book is amazing, way better then Dear John. I read all of his books and this one is one of my favorites. I cant wait until the movie comes out in April.

Have you read Dear John yet?  If so, was it similar to that?  I'm not a huge fan of his books, but I ready Lucky Star a few months ago and loved it; Dear John, not so much.

I'm running out of new things to read and I have a Kindle to fill still!  Any other suggestions ladies?

It's different than Dear John but still the typical Sparks style - if that makes sense.

I have a Kindle too and since I can get the books for cheaper I read crap sometimes!

Here's what I have read over the past few months (note - I tend to re-read books):

All of the Twilight books (I will not say how many times I have read each)
    Both of Tori Spellings books
    Dear John
    The Last Song
    The Kite Runner
    A Thousand Splendid Suns
    Chasing Harry Winston
    Anything by Jodi Picoult
    The Help
Hannah's Hope (this is an Infertility/ Pregnancy loss related book)
The Unlikely Disciple (talks about religion but is not religious - great book)
    Julie and Julia

I'm know I have read more but that is all that is coming to me right now!

OOO i may have to get! I love Nicolas Sparks! I haven't read Dear John yet, but want too.. maybe i'll buy them both this weekend! :)

  • I loved the Notebook, but I don't know how many of his books have any semblance of a happy ending. They're all tear jerkers! The ones I have read anyway.

I'm currently reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman.

You and I have VERY similar reading tastes!  I've read most of those as well, including the Twilight series (and share in the multiple confession!)   I was thinking about Chelsea Handler's first book next - Are you there Vodka? It's me....or something along those lines.  Her blurb in Cosmo every month is a crack up to me.

Jeanette Walls is also a new author my MIL turned me onto.  Her books are intriguing to say the least.

The Chelsea Handler book is good!  I also read Lauren Conrad's book LA Candy.  Embarrassed

  • I'm currently reading The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. I'm only on Chapter 3 and it's ok so far, kinda slow. I hope it picks up soon. It was recommended by a friend.

I read all of the Sookie Stackhouse series and loved those!

I am reading this as well, and I do agree that the beginning is kinda slow. But I absolutely loved The Last Song and I too cried at the end.

  • The Last Song was a great book.  But is anyone else super-disappointed that the movie made from the book has Miley Cyrus as the lead?  So NOT a fan!
