Dairy free info

Just wanted to share this link, we are on a dairy free diet.  We're fairly new to it, since we are still in the process of figuring out all that's going on with DS.  And sometimes reading labels gets confusing.  This page seems to have some helpful info on it.

Re: Dairy free info

  • How does milk get in french fries? hmmm guess I will be avoiding Mcdonalds now since the fries were my only rare take out treat...sigh

  • Wow that's an extensive article.

Soy is in french fries too (vegetable oil).  very sad.

  • I know!  I felt the same way about the fries, they were my one staple I thought I could grab when out.  I usually bring my own food..but sometimes you're out and you're hungry and a fry sounds good

It's not just in the oil- there's usually some sort of soy protein in them too. Alexia organic fries are soy/dairy free though (except for their parmesan (sp? I hate that word!) flavor). They have sweet potato fries, waffel fries, regular fries and steak fries. Can you tell this makes me happy? I love my potatoes...

  • Wine is mentioned.

    Oy vey.

My friends have website that tracks what drinks are vegan:

They're certainly dairy and egg free.
