Preemies

Clothing question

Lo is long 24 inches but, only around 10 pounds and i'm haveing a horroble time finding things that fit him.  His NB clothes are all to short and but, the 0-3 are too long and too big iun the waist.  Does any one else have this problem and what did you do about it?  Is there a line of clothes that would work better for him...  He barley has anything i can put on him.

Re: Clothing question

  • DS had some of this problem - he is wider than he is long when it comes to baby clothes, lol. I think it totally depends; Child of Mine by Carter's has been kinda long and skinny compared to some of his Circo stuff (Target), but not all of the Circo stuff has been short. My solution has been to basically just wear the long/big stuff bc it's easier to do that than worry about cramming him into something he barely fits in. Gerber runs tiny - I bet your kiddo would fit well in their 0-3 month stuff!
  • Well, my little man is 21 inches long and is 11 pounds 2 ounces, but he can still fit into most of his newborn clothes, but I've noticed that he can also fit into his 0-3 months Gymboree clothes but they are to long on him, because he's short like me. But I have noticed that on Austin Carters clothes are longer then others...

  • I found miniwear (BRU brand stuff) stuff longer and narrower than most.

Circo was really hit or miss. Same with Old Navy stuff. You really had to eyeball it to decide.

Most Carter's stuff is just big all around, but their "Just One Year" line seems a LOT skinner and longer than their other stuff.

We have the opposite problem> Robbie is chunky but short.. so we stay away from the above stuff and use a lot of sleep-n-plays, and do a lot of pant leg rolling.

  • DD is long herself, so even though the six months clothes are big on her, I still move her over to them. So I would probably just move him up a size.
