2nd Trimester

22 week weight gain? I'm starting to get a little concerned.

I've gained 4 lbs.  (although I LOOK like I've gained more than that--lol).

I remember gaining most of my weight late with S but 4 lbs doesn't seem like very much.  my next OB appt is on wed so I'll be sure to discuss it with my doctor then.  just wondering where everyone else is at weight-wise...

  • I've gained 6 lbs.  By this time with DD#1 I was already up 25 lbs!  Last week at my check-up the OB said he would be concerned if I was losing weight, but not to stress too much about gaining.  GL
  • With E I didnt gain a single pound until after 25 weeks.  As long as you are eating healthy and the baby is measuring fine I wouldn't worry about it.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
  • At my last appointment I was down a pound from the previous appointment, putting me at about 5 lbs overall. My doctor wasn't concerned, but I am signifigantly overweight to begin with.

  • I am right there with you. I am up about 3-4 overall but I am expecting a good jump at my next visit. My body is looking slimmer (except for the belly of course) so I think I lost weight before the baby started to outpace me. I wasn't trying to loose but I wasn't hungry until about  2 weeks ago and even still, the thought of sweets is a bit icky.  I'm not worried. I eat when hungry and indulge in moderation and the baby is doing well!

    :-)

  • I lost weight, and still have yet to gain a pound at 16 weeks. Despite eating healthy and all that. It is my experience that this is genetic and I'm following in my Mothers and Grandmothers foot steps. As your mom what she was like pregnant and it should be a good indicator for you!
  • It depends your body and if you lost in 1st.

At 24 wks i was at my prepg (I lost close to 10 lbs in 1st tri) Then in 3rd i've been gaining 1-2 lbs/wk, and am now up almost 30 lbs.  As long as your dr isnt concerned then dont worry about it.

  • I'm only up 4 as of today at my appt. I lost 5 first tri and I had to force myself to eat just to gain that back...I look like I'm up a lot more than 4 but at least its all belly.
  • I should add that I'm pretty thin to begin with.

    5' 6 and 125 pre-preg now I'm 129.

  • I'm still 4 pounds in the hole :)  OB wasn't concerned as my ute and baby boy are right on track
  • I gained a lot faster with baby #1 (I'm only at 5 lbs+ right now).  I was sicker longer this time, and feeding me tends to fall last on my list.  I've been trying to prep easy snacks and food at night so that I can eat more frequently and not get too distracted by the day to day mom stuff.
  • I've gained about 7 lbs so far- all in the first 10 weeks. Since 12/18, I've only gained 1 lb. Seems weird, but our LO is measuring right on track. If your doctor isn't concerned, then you don't need to be either. Yes
  • I'm so jealous you guys! I've gained 23lbs! Funny, I'm still wearing a size small on top though, I guess it's all in the belly...and ass and hips....
  • I was at 25 weeks before I did anything but lost weight, I would lose 1-1.5 pounds each visit until 25 weeks, between 23 and 25 week appts I gained 10 pounds, all in my stomach, I can still wear all my pre-preg pants comfortably.  The dr said as long as baby was growing not gaining weight was fine (im a little on the pudgy side anyways)
