I am only 16 weeks pregnant, but with my initial bloodwork (to confirm pregnancy) my glucose was 114, not too high, but high enough that they sent me for the 1 hour about 4 weeks ago. I failed with a 144, just over the line. I am hoping and praying that I pass the 3 hour. Can you tell me your stories of the 1 vs. 3 hour tests?
Re: 3 hr glucose- any stories of good results?
I had to take mine super early (8 weeks) and failed the 1-hour. Went in for the 3-hour and passed all 4 blood draws. Since I am high-risk for GD (my mom had it with all her pregnancies), I'll have to repeat the 1-hour at about 28 weeks.
For the 3-hour, I took it first thing in the AM on an empty stomach. The 1-hour was done right after lunch and I had carbs that day. I think that's what threw the numbers way off.
Good luck to you!
on my local board several girls have had to do the 3 hr and i think all but 1 have passed.
good luck!!

In my last pregnancy, I failed the one hour by I think 1 point but it could have been a little more. I never got the exact number. I passed the 3 hour without any problems.
If you're that close to the mark, you probably won't have any problem passing the 3 hour. Good luck!
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
with DD I failed the 1 hour by 1 point and failed the 3 hour miserably. I had GD that was controlled with diet/exercise modifications.
With DS I failed the 1 hour by about 30 points and passed the 3 hour.
it really will depend, but many women fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour.
