Anyone had Strep Throat since you've been pg?

I really feel like I'm coming down with strep, and I am not happy.  If you've had it, what did the doctor give you? I think I'm so nervous because right before my m/c last year, I got a bad case of bronchitis and had to take some antibiotics. I don't really think they caused the m/c but I'm just hoping that this is sinus stuff and not strep....   Ease my mind ladies Wink

    I have not had strept since I have been pg (had my tonsils out 4 years ago and haven't had any issues since) but I have had bronchitis and 3 sinus infections since becoming pg and have been put on the Z Pack 5 times (with two of the sinus infections I had to do two rounds of antibiotics to knock it out), I am 24 weeks now and not issues so far.  There is a list of category B drugs that are safe for pregnant women to take if needed so just make sure you get to the dr. asap, befor it gets any worse.   Feel better!!!

    Oh yes, I'm definitely going to the doctor tomorrow.  I've been out of town all weekend, and I thought I was getting better, but I'm not.  Thanks. Your post made me feel better!

    I had strep in my 1st tri and they gave me a z-pack (5 pills). Totally safe and took care of the strep. There are many safe antibiotics they can give you. It would be more dangerous to have something that is untreated. I'd get checked out just in case. Good luck!

    I had strep throat twice with DS- once the day after I found out I was pg, and once close to the end (30 something weeks).  Both times they gave me antibiotics, amoxicillan or penicillan, I can't remember what but it was fine.
