Diapers

Anyone know which brand of organic/bleach-free diapers is the cheapest or best value? I plan on using bleach free diapers and hopefully organic/biodegradable.

Re: Diapers

  • The EFF board has given me a ton of ideas on diapers. I can spend all day on that board!!

  • If you're really looking for something that is environmentally friendly, disposables aren't the way to go. Have you looked into cloth diapering at all? There are some amazing options that are easy to use and will save you money and be kind to the environment. :)

  • Cloth diapers are just not going to do it for us...I have looked at the G diapers and I could go with those, but I have heard about some biodegradable ones I just don't know where to find them...also how do you explain to people coming to your shower not to buy any diapers???? I know people will show up with SUPER MEGA cases of Huggies and/or Pampers without my consent!

You can't, really. The best you can do is register for a kind that you like and hope that people notice and buy that kind. If you get some that aren't the kind you want to use you can try to exchange them for ones you like, or donate them to a shelter if you can't exchange them.

You can let your host(s) know that you're only interested in a certain kind of diaper and if they happen to hear anyone talking about stocking up on Huggies or Pampers for you, then maybe they can kindly point them in another direction. That's really all you can do though.

Most of the people going to our showers know that we are going to cloth-diaper so hopefully we won't run into this, although MIL has her friend making a diaper cake for us (out of disposables) because she's an idiot. *sigh*

ETA: I totally had to run and make myself a cup of peaceful mama tea after I saw your other post. lol

  • I chose kissaluvs for tiny baby and swaddlebees for standard infant.

    Kissaluvs have organic and unbleached.

Swaddlebees have organic cotton inserts and liners and they grow with the baby, they also have snaps rather than velcro.

    OP is talking about disposables.
