High-Risk Pregnancy

oh boy, DD just threw up + me on bedrest= :(

I found out on friday that a 24 hr. stomach bug is going around DD's Daycare with staff and all.  The kids in DD class has not had it but the teachers did.  Well tonight she refused to eat any dinner then thew up all over. :( Poor baby.  My BIL and SIL would help but they are out of town.  We have not other family.  DH HAS to go to work tomorrow for at least a half day.  Even thought I am "not allowed" to care for DD on my own that may just happen tomorrow morning.  I can keep her on the couch watching tv (not good but what else can u do when sick) and DH will be home by noon.  On one hadn i feel guilty, DH cleaned up everything and DD is scremaing for mommy, DH does not want me near her but i told him, if she has it she already gave it to us.  But them i feel uilty to disobey Doc orders b/s i don;t want to harm the boys or this pregnancy.   Sorry i just needed to get that off my chest.

  • i really feel for bedrest mamas who have older children to care for. i can't imagine how difficult that would be as just being on bedrest with no other children to care for is hard in itself.

  • I second shipoopi.  I don't know how you handle bedrest and a young child!

I wish I had words of wisdom to get you through this tough time.  Can you call in a babysitter to take care of your daughter?

  • I am so sorry you are going through all this!  I have a 3 and 5 year old at home while on bedrest and am at times caring for them on my own (basically shouting orders from the couch- I feel terrible!).  I hope your morning goes smoothly and your DH comes home to help out as soon as he can.  Hang in there!!!  Big hugs to another mama with kids at home on bedrest- it's so hard!

  • I feel for you. I am not on bed rest (but I am scared for the possibility) and I have been really sick myself with a healthy toddler. My dh had to stay home 2 days to take care of us. It was hard on all of us.

Stay strong. One day on the couch watching tv won't be horrible for her. :)

  • I would feel reassured by my pediatrician's advice - all rules are gone when they are sick.  popsicles, eating in front of the tv, and movies galore - whatever it takes to make them feel better and your life a little easier.

I do hope that you are able to avoid the illness.  My DH and DD had a stomach bug earlier this winter at the same time and I had to try and take care of them both while on bed rest.  Even my mother who helps me daily came down with the bug so I was helpless!  One good thing is that their energy is low so they'll be content to sit on the couch and snuggle.  I was just so tired of watching Nemo and ToyStory!

    Hang in there!
