Decorating advice needed, help!

I'm thinking of a mossy sage green walls for the nursery and I want the rug below from Overstock.com, I think the two colors will go well with the espresso crib and drawer set we ordered.

However, I don't know if it will go with the Bananafish Love Bird bedding.

Seems like a lot of colors.  Overstock only has 10 rugs left in inventory so I have to make a decision soon.

HELP!

My concern is the rug and the bedding together.  I think that the color families are a bit too different (pastels vs bold) and there isn't any of that dark purple in the quilt to draw from.  Also, I think the pattern on the rug might take away from the pattern on the bedding (which is absolutely adorable).

If it were me, I'd keep looking.

That's exactly my concern.

This is the other, more subtle option.

potterybarnkids.com has some adorable rugs. I did my daughters room with birds and we found a great rug. I don't know if it's still there but they have some cute simple rugs

We're going with espresso furniture and the same bedding, we're painting her walls the light blue color from the birds. IMO, I don't like the rug and bedding together. Try pulling colors from the bedding. What about a light green or light blue rug?

The walls should be fine with either the rug or the bedding.  Not a huge fan of the rug with the bedding, though.

In theory it sounds good with the sage walls, but I'm afraid the purple rug will just be too dark and bold for the bananafish bedding. Sorry!
