High-Risk Pregnancy

MODY mamas?

My hubby and I have been trying to conceive for going-on three months.

Proactive folk that we are, we met recently with a genetic counselor and high-risk specialist at one of Greater Boston's finest hospitals to talk through reducing maternal/fetal health risks that go hand-in-hand with MODY Type II: a genetic predisposition to high blood sugar that walks/talks/acts like Type II diabetes except sans the risk factors and complications. Think: I'm young, thin, healthy eater, exercise regularly, feel totally fine.

Normally, I don't require any medical interventions whatsoever for treatment of MODY. In pregnancy, however, I learned I might require insulin. Might. Might not. In any event, I'd love to hear from (would-be) MODY mamas. What were your pregnancies like? Advice? Suggestions? What do you wish you'd known before the stick turned blue?
