BIL vent!

I got a DVD for me and DH to watch tonight, and we just went to grab it and it was gone.  Weird.  Couldn't find it anywhere.  DH calls his brother and asked if he took it, and he did.  Gawd--this guy is 34 and feels like it's okay to just let himself into our house whenever and borrow whatever he wants of DH's.  I told him that I am totally not okay with DH in our home when we aren't home and he's told him numerous times.  Even if we lock up he finds a way in.  He is such an self-absorbed, entitled ahole who doesn't respect anyone's wishes.  Is it too much to ask that no one goes into our house when neither of is home?  It irks me.

Re: BIL vent!

  • How is he getting in when its locked? BIL or not you can file B&E charges on him.

  • Yeah, it makes no sense that he is getting in when the door is locked.  How is that happening....?

I agree! If you have already told him you don't want him there when you aren't and he is still doing it I would take further action, he obviously doesn't respect the two of you

  • Does he have a key, and if so i would get it back ASAP!!!!   Family or not, that is your home and he obviously has no boundaries!
  • Change your locks and don't give him a key, or get a house alarm. That will solve the problem. Guaranteed.
  • My MIL use to show up whenever she felt like it. She never took anything but we would be sleeping at 8am and *knock knock knock*. WTF? And then she would just sit on the couch and watch us have breakfast, get ready for the day and start our chores then leave 2hrs later. No conversation. Just watching. It pisse* me off BAD. After a half dozen times of this happening I told DH to have a talk before I snapped. My SIL had this happen and BIL wouldn't talk to his Mom...well, SIL had it out with her and now she is on MIL's shi* list and has been for months now! Ah, families!

  • He lets himself in by either going through our dog door (really desperate, I know), or by opening one of our windows.  Our landlord won't let us put in an alarm in, otherwise I would be calling ADT immediately.  He's never had a key, and never will.  He just doesn't think rules apply to him--when his license was suspended for a DUI and he wasn't supposed to be driving, he'd still drive wherever he wanted.  I was tempted too many times to call and report him.  Ugh, he's such a loser and I feel bad that my kids are going to be related to him (eek, I sound bad, don't I?).
  • Well breaking and entering charges it is! He won't stop it sounds like if he is going through a dang doggie door.

Wow! That really is pathetic! I would definitely take further action. This guy is ridiculous!

I'd walk through the house butt naked. That will teach her.

  • I wonder what else he is taking from your home......
