Just curious what the average on here is. I think Ian was 15m and he was a big boy. Max is about the same size if not bigger at this age and we haven't turned him yet.[Poll]
I answered 12 months b/c we did with Isabelle b/c she was still in the carrier carseat but with Oliver he's in the convertable carseat rearfacing b/c he was just too heavy to carry and I may keep him rearfacing for awhile even though he's already over 20 lbs. I guess we'll see how I feel in May.
DD1 outgrew the RF height for the harness in her carseat at 14 months or we would have kept her RF much longer. We replaced that seat for both girls and plan to keep Emma RF a lot longer since we have the option.
I turned Michelle around when she was 11months old. She was 22lbs and she HATED to be rearfacing. It was getting to the point where it was very distracting for me when I was driving.

I'M GRAPE JELLY- ALWAYS AROUND & ALWAYS THE SAME
If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me. For I must be traveling on now. Because there are too many places I've got to see. -Allen Collins & Ronnie VanZant
My favorite verse!
DD is still RF at almost two years old. The research convinced me to keep her RF as long as possible.
I don't think this is a flammable issue either way. If you choose to keep your child RF, you have reasons for doing so and vice versa. I don't think anyone could convince me that DD would be better off being forward facing, so it would be a waste of their breath...and if you forward face your kid you obviously feel the same way.

The twins were 12 months. They had reached the age and height requirement for that particular car seat. Logan is 15 months and still rear facing. And he will be for quite some time after 2 unless we buy him a new car seat. He's very short and light weight and the pedi had asked me about this at his 12 month appt and I told her that our carseat had restrictions of 22lbs (which he is now at) and 34inches tall (which he's not.) She looked at the growth curve that he's on now (and has been on all along) and she told me not to expect to turn him around until 2 years, 8 months. Which I'm fine with. He's facing the twins and they play and talk to him in the car and I'm fine with that!
Re: Clicky poll: when did you turn the carseat?
