BH contractions question

so, is it normal to have these? and how many? i've been getting some mild contractions (no pain, just some tightening of the belly, they aren't constant, but i do get some every day) and i have no idea how many is TOO many and when i should be worried. like i need something else to worry about these days...

If you're getting more than 5-6/hr you should talk to your doc about it :)

  • I was also told more then 5-6 an hour or if they get painful.  My ob also told me if I felt them in my back I should call too.

  • Honestly I don't know, but if I were in your shoes at a minimum I'd be calling the triage nurse at my OB's office, and asking them. All I ever had with Evan were "BH" contractions, but they were dilating me. I don't think it would be out of line to investigate it further with your Doc, and if it is normal and fine, GREAT, you'd go home and know and worry less. If they find something else going on, it's better to go in than sit at home telling yourself it's all ok. I don't think I'd worry a lot about it right now, just check it out.

  • I had a LOT of BH the weekend before LO had to be delivered via c-section. They were constant - all day for a few days in a row. I called my midwife and she had me take magnesium to slow them down (which it did) but now I know that was my body's way of telling me something was wrong. Trust your gut and call! You'll sleep better. Smile
