Can't decide on a name!

DH and I are totally stuck on a name for DS2.  DS1 is Nathan.  We both loved the name, so it was a pretty easy decision.  This time, however, we each have our hearts set on a particular name, and neither of us want to budge.  I love the name Matthew, and he wants the name Logan.

Ugh, how do we decide?  Has anyone else been in this situation, where you each have a particular name in mind, and neither one of you wants to give in?  If so, how did you come to a decision?

Can you use one as a middle name?

Maybe use one name for a middle name and the other for a first name. If you haven't already setteled on a middle name of course!! But then there's the possible who's name to use as the first and who's to use as the middle fight! DH gets to name our little girl since I got to name our son. He's set on Olivia, and while I love the name it's so popular and I'm one for the less popular names! DS is Oliver and when we named him...Oliver wasn't on the top 100 that I remember, but now it's #16 =(

Possibly, but I think we may be using his great-grandfather's name (Zachary) as the middle name.  We used my grandfather's name for DS1's middle name, so I think we're going to use DH's great-grandfather's name this time.

We would 'try out' the name for a day or two, saying it aloud and referring to the baby by it, seeing how we felt about it.

We also google/wikipedia'd the first and last name combo to see if anything interesting came up.

Use one as a middle name, or scrap both and start over. A name is important and something you have to agree on for sure.

yes, and then we start from scratch:(  frustrating, but I want to find a name we are both happy with, and there has to be one out there.....even if it's hiding realllly well!

Do you want your son to have the option of a nickname? Logan can't really be shortened but Matthew can.
