2nd Trimester

it's a....

baby! Unfortunately, LO wasn't cooperating all that much for the ultrasound today... feet kept getting in the way. But, the best news is that everything is looking great and right on target.

Anyone else not have the best luck during an ultrasound when they wanted to know the gender?

Re: it's a....

  • We got an answer at our anatomy u/s but the picture I seen and the one she gave us wasn't clear enough for me to be confident! Everyone say's to look for 3 lines or a 'hamburger' looking area for a little girl and there were no lines no a 'hamburger' in our picture. The tech was 95% certain we were having a girl and said she never gives a higher percentage than that, but this is the first girl in DH's family since his mom..he has 3 brothers and all the grandkids are boys (including our first born). So I begged DH to take me in for a gender determination u/s a week later to be sure there wasn't anything hiding! That u/s was $85, but we're in a small area...I'm sure in larger area's they're a bit cheaper. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about it...some offices around my area will give a gender determination u/s if LO wasn't cooperative during the first. While gender isn't the reason for the u/s in the first place obviously you want to know so that you can plan things...they understand things like that!! BTW, glad things look good with your LO! GL

  • Me with my first.  I didn't find out for sure til like 24 weeks.  At 20 week anatomy u/s she not only wasn't cooperating with legs all tucked up, but the umbilical cord was right between the legs so it wasn't like I could just get up and move to make the baby move it's legs or wait for it to stretch 'cause that umbilical cord was tucked right there lol.  I was SOOO disappointed.
