How much does your 3 week old eat?

My girls are 3 weeks today.  They eat about 3-3 1/2 ounces every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night but was wondering if we could go to every 4 hours during the day as well??  They seem like they could go a little longer but I want to make sure they are getting enough.  And I'm obviously hoping they will start going a little longer at night as well.  I'm crazy tired but it's so worth it!!

DS eats about 4 oz every 3-4 hours. At night he acts like he's never been fed in his life and wants to eat every 2 hours.

Wow! My LO will be three weeks on Monday and Im still giving him 2oz every two hours or so. Am I not giving him enough?

I don't know!  I wish there was some kind of chart or something to go by!!

I've always breastfed but I am a NICU and well baby RN.  I would let your LO take as much as they want at a feeding and go up to 4 hours during the day.  My 2 1/2 week old breastfed baby goes 4 hours a lot during the day.  A formula fed baby should do fine eating every 4, you just might see the amount they want increase. 

southernbride: We have 2-3 day old babies taking 1.5-2oz so at 2 weeks I would expect closer to 3 ounces and definitely closer to 3 hours between feedings.
