2nd Trimester

Anyone having braxton hicks already??

For the past 3 or 4 days I've been having braxton hicks contractions almost every night when I lay down and also when I walk a lot during the day. I remember this happening with my first pg but I thought it was much later. Anyone else having them this early on??

  • I've had them for a while now. The Dr. says it is normal to notice them earlier on in your 2nd pregnancy. He told me stay hydrated and rest as much as I can!
  • I have somewhere around 5 or 6 a day, and have had them since around 19 weeks. My doctor said it's fine as long as they stay painless....

  • This is my first pregnancy and I'm right at the end of my 2nd trimester. So far, I don't think I've had any Braxton Hicks, but the other night after having sex, something painful was going on. I think it was false contractions because the pain came in sort of waves and they were centered in my lower abdomen / pelvic region. They lasted about two hours and seemed irregular though I wasn't timing anything. But they were painful and everyone says Braxton Hicks shouldn't be painful. So I don't know. I'm seeing my doctor in one week. The baby's still kicking away so she's fine.

Mine have been painful too when I get them at night. I just called my doctors office and left a message for the nurse. I'd rather just ask them and make sure there is nothing to worry about...

  • I started getting BH contractions at 18 weeks. About 4 per day. Now I've been forcing myself to drink more water and they've slowed down to 1 or 2 a day... my dr wasnt concerned as long as I don't get more than 4 per hour, which i haven't even gotten close.

  • I started getting them a couple days ago.  It scared me at first, but they aren't painful and it's about 2 an hour.  I was thinking of calling my OB's office just to make sure it's okay.  It made me realize that I really don't have as much time left in this pregnancy as I thought I did.  Eeek!
  • Me! Last night I was freaking out but called the advice nurse, she told me to drink plenty of fluids and get rest.  Went away afterwards and monkey started moving around again!!
