How much water are you supposed to have? Is is 8-8oz a day which really converts to 8cups?

  • Most of the information I have read says 64oz a day.  My CNM told me to aim for 3 liters a day (which I think is like 96 oz a day), but that's just insane to me.

This is what our doctor said, but I could barely get it all down and felt like I never stopped peeing! So he said minimum 8-8 oz. and I should be OK : )

  • As PP said 64oz

My OB said to get at least 60oz and if possible get 80oz. I have been keeping track for a few months now and can usually get 60oz w/out a problem but if I go more then that I pee like crazy--like last night! 12times from 11p.m.-7:30a.m. Yick.

    I was told to drink 3 liters a day, but I actually drink probably a little over a gallon. I'm a water-holic!

Edit: .. does that even make sense? Maybe my math is off. I have a jug that's 2.2 liters, and I drink 2 of those a day at least, plus 2 servings of milk, and one glass of juice. Yes, I pee a lot!

  • Many people have been telling me to just drink a gallon jug a day...I can't stand drinking all that water so I substitute some with pregnancy tea and decaf green tea.
  • Our OB and my endocrinologist both say drink half your body weight in ounces... so like if you weigh 140, drink 70 oz. Its tough but I try to just do that much in fluids overall. Water, milk, sometimes juice, that way is a lot easier to reach your goal than straight water... they both said tea is fine too
  • yea 2-3 liters (64-96 oz)

i have struggled the last few days. nothing like being the only women in all day meetings with 30 guys and having a LO tap dancing on your bladder so you have to get up every hour!
