I can't believe you've been able to keep it a secret from them! Did they know you guys did the IVF?

My mom knows we did IVF, but I lied and told her that we wouldn't know results till next week because all of the drugs I was on would give an inaccurate result.  I really wanted to tell her in person, so I'm so glad I'll get to do that. 

My husband's parents didn't even know we were trying to get pregnant, because of the adoption.  This will probably be a pretty big surprise for them.

Oh my gosh. I can't wait to hear how it went. Please make sure to update us on every little detail! I'm going to vicariously live through you this weekend!

For my mom we're going to put together a little photo album from the process - the embryos, a scan of the ultrasound, a few other little things.  She doesn't know much about IVF, so she's really interested.  At the end, we'll put in a picture of the positive tests.  Not the way I'd always pictured it, but she'll be surprised and she'll cry and be happy, which is all I really want. 

For his parents I think we'll mess with them a bit.  We'll sit them down, tell them we have an update on the adoption, then get very solemn and say that it's going to be much farther down the line than we'd expected.  Then we'll break the news.  We wanted to wait till Easter to tell them (after we've seen the heartbeat), but they're planning a cruise for November - we feel like we should give them the heads up in case they'd like to be in the country when this happens.

Ohhhhhh! I love that idea! Your mom is going to be so excited! How cool is that going to be?!

And good idea to tell his parents early. Of course they'll want to be in town! You should be like, "We received a picture of the baby we want to adopt...." and then show them the pic of your ultrasound or the positive tests. That'd be so cute!

Oh how exciting! I'm sure they will look beautiful! It does feel good to check stuff off that list. We still have a lot of stuff to do in our backyard. But we have to wait for better weather to start tackling it. In the meantime, I keep finding more and more things to add to that list. I just need to stop looking!

We are waiting for nice weather to start tackling the outside projects too.  Hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later!
