How many sheet sets will you buy?

I am not buying a full crib bedding set, I'm just going to buy the fitted & flat sheets I like. But how many sets will you get?

I have read 2 minimum

but I'm thinking 3 minimum for washing purposes - hmmmm

WDYT?

Re: How many sheet sets will you buy?

  • I registered for 3. One comes with the bedding set, and I registered for 2 other plain ones. Right now I do laundry once a week...which I think I'll continue when LO comes, unless necessity says I need to do it more.

  • yea I'm just wondering how often they would get soiled anyhow? I do laundry every few days, so maybe I should just get 2 to start with & see how I go.... hmmm
  • I had 4 fitteds for DD's crib.  I didn't know they make flat sheets for cribs.

  • I have two fitted sheets for DD.  What we LOVED when she was little and spitting up everywhere was the Ultimate Crib Sheet (eta- you lay them on top of the fitted sheet).  Changing the fitted sheets all the time is a PITA.  These were much easier to take off and change.

  • I have a bunch.  I couldn't decide on the colors or styles.  I figure worst case I'll have too many.  Also, I can return what we end up deciding we don't need.

I should confess though...I LOVE linens...

  • I got 2 to start.  We do laundry once a week right now, because we don't have a washer and dryer in our apartment.

However, our new house has a washer and a dryer hookup, so we're buying the machines.  We're also cloth diapering, so I suspect I'll be doing laundry everyday anyway.

If I need to get a 3rd I will, but I think 2 will be fine.

  • I bought the zip-off top fitted sheets, which are an awesome invention, IMO. I bought one bottom and three tops to zip onto it. Worked fine for me the first time around.

  • We have always rotated 3 for DD and will do so with this baby.  I do laundry enough that it hasn't been a problem.

  • We'll have 3 fitted sheets, two that go with the bedding and one plain white one for back up.

  • I think I put 3 on my registry...I also put on a sheet saver, which seems like it will be easier than pulling off the whole sheet if it just gets spit up on or something.

  • hmmm I have never heard of sheet savers..... I wonder if they have them here? I'll have to look - thanks:)
  • I've definately survived with two.  One for the bed while the other is in the wash but, I never let dirty laundry get out of control either.

  • I'm going with 6 sets, but I'll have two cribs - so I agree you'll be good with 3 sets.

  • I'm doing the same thing and I think I have around four on my registry!
  • we have 3.  for the longest time we only had 2 and it was just fine.
  • I think so far I am registered for about 5 or 6 fitted sheets. I am going to prepare for the diaper explosions.

  • I'm late, but I will say that I would get several extra cheap sheets just to have on hand.  2 would have been fine, until DS got the stomach flu and we went through 4 sheets in the middle of the night.

I would get 2-3 cute ones that match the bedding, and then a couple more cheapies just in case.  Target has crib sheets for like 6 bucks, and I bet you can find them cheaper.
