how to say No thank you without sounding Hurtful

A friend has said she wants to throw me a baby shower Nice idea right except this is my third I dont want people to bring gifts sooo the question  is how do I say lets wait till the baby gets here that way people dont feel like they have to give gifts yet again without sounding hurtful

Just tell her that you were reading about a "meet the baby party" where you have a get together after the baby is born, would she be interested in doing that for you because you'd LOVE to have one....

You could ask her to throw you a diaper shower.  That way you can just have the party and you're not really getting gifts, but people will feel like they are giving you something useful....and again, a reason to celebrate/party :-)

This is a cute idea.  Or, maybe she could just throw a "sprinkle" with your very close and friends and family and not a full-on shower.  I do see the dilemma, though, typically showers are a little tacky after the 1st child.  Also, the meet the baby party is a good idea.
