Non-alcoholic wine

So I'm having a girl's weekend at my house this weekend and I was at the liquor store today buying wine and beer for everyone else. So I asked the clerk if they made a non-alcoholic wine.  Well it turns out they do!  The brand is Fre and its made just like a normal wine and they take the alcohol out afterwards by some tumbling method I didn't understand when he tried to explain it.  So its really wine instead of sparkling juice or whatever. I'm saving it for when we do fondue on Saturday night, but I wanted to put out the good word for all the rest of you wine lovers!

I tried it, some people say it tastes like grape juice..duh!! LOL but I didnt think it was that bad but I didnt love it and prolly will just wait for the real stuff! Enjoy!

I tried a non-alcoholic chardonnay and it was gross!  It tasted like vinegar or pickle juice.  I think n.a. beer is a much better choice.

There are also some juices called "First Blush" that they sell at whole foods.  I haven't had them yet but I hear they are slightly sweeter than an actual glass but come from the same grapes.  And there are a ton of flavors.

Fre is okay, I think Ariel is much better. There's a pic of it (Ariel) in my blog somewhere.

ETA: None of the n/a wines are particularily good. But what can you do.

I agree that non-alcoholic beer is better.  My husband stole one of my O'Doul's the other day!  They make it in Amber color now - yumm.

i have had it and i hate to disappoint you but it is TERRIBLE!!!

nothing compares to a nice glass of chardonay over the stove after work.

Dang!  I was hoping it would be wonderful!  I got the White Zin flavor.  I have been buying the O'douls amber.  That is quite tasty if I do say so myself!

My Whole Foods quit carrying this...I was so bummed. I got this tart cherry juice by Knudsen's that I sip when everyone else is having a glass of wine. It doesn't taste like wine, but it's tart enough that I can only have a little at a time and I have to sip it! So I sort of feel like I get to play too.

I think both Fre and Ariel are TERRIBLE.  You seriously couldn't pay me to drink it.
