GD: I caved. I'm weak!

lol.

There was a tray of cookies in the lunch room.  Soft chocolate chip cookies.  I've been SOOO good with this diet for the past 8 weeks... so I splurged and had one.

Now I want another LOL.  But I'll resist.  It sure was delicious, though.

  • My weakness since dx is cake.  All I want is cake!  I walk through the grocery store and drool at the crappy sugary cakes they have out.  It's terrible.

I haven't given in yet, but I think in 5 months I'm sure I'll have a moment of weakness!

I hope you enjoyed every last crumb of that cookie! (drool...)

  • With a family history I knew it was a possibility.  Mostly though I felt like crap and morning sickness was clearly not the issue anymore.  What set me over the edge was eating a pear one afternoon and feeling worse than I had yet.  I finally just asked my OB if she thought I should test early (I'm overweight too) and she said yes.  So I did and failed. =(  I probably could have held out, but avoiding the diagnosis wouldn't have helped me or baby.  It does mean I have a long 5 months ahead of me!

One of my friends recently told me that you can make a boxed cake with a can of diet soda (just 10 oz though) instead of using all the additives (eggs, oil, etc).  I tried to make a yellow cake with diet cream soda....'twas heaven. )

so it's just soda and cake mix??

how did you count the carbs?

  • That's interesting since the sugar is already in the mix.  All you add usually is water and fat (egg & oil).

I figured there must be a diebetes friendly cake recipe out there somewhere.  If this keeps up I may have to find one! =)

  • Aw... don't worry.  I cheated a lot since I was pregnant during the holidays.  I just made sure to exercise more the days I cheated :)

Also, chocolate sugar free pudding snacks were my best friend.
